Job Opportunities
Senior researcher position on GNSS Signal Processing
Area of job
Type of job
A senior researcher position is available at the Signal Processing for Communications and Navigation (SPCOMNAV) research group, a member of IEEC through Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). SPCOMNAV is one of the leading academic research groups in GNSS signal processing and wireless localization in Europe, having strong links with industry and with the main European institutions in the area of GNSS.
The researcher will be a vital member of our group, contributing to the development of GNSS signal processing techniques to improve both the security and the accuracy of next-generation systems and receivers. The researcher will actively participate in research projects funded by European institutions (European Space Agency – ESA, European GNSS Agency – GSA, and European Commission), in close collaboration with leading companies in the field of GNSS. Some of the projects currently ongoing at the group cover a broad range of applications dealing with the use of GNSS in smart cities and Internet of Things, the remote processing of GNSS signals in the cloud, the integration of GNSS with 5G, the performance analysis of high-order BOC signals and meta signals, and the implementation of an antenna array testbed for detecting GNSS interference signals.
The researcher is expected to contribute to some of the aforementioned topics with fundamental research results and with performance analyses, being able to move one step further beyond the current state of the art.
The researcher, depending on the experience, can assume technical management of tasks, work packages or complete projects, and take leadership in proposals and consortia preparation.
