The cosmology group of the Instituto de Ciencias del Espacio (ICE, IEEC/CSIC) is seeking an engineer with experience in mechanics both in designing and working in a laboratory/workshop environment to work in the astronomical project Euclid where ICE is involved.

The job will involve participation in the design and testing of the filter wheel assembly and all its components of the near-infrared instrument of teh Euclid Satellite of teh European Space Agency.

The job requires:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of design software (e.g., NASTRAN, ESATAN, CATIA, SolidWorks)
  • Familiarity with testing work in mechanical laboratory and workshop.
  • Fluency (both written and spoken) in English
It will also be taken into consideration:
  • Experience in space projects
We intend to fill this position as soon as possible. The contract will be until the end of 2013, although an extension is possible. The salary will be agreed upon with the successful applicant.
