Type of job
The research group on the multi-messenger approach to astro-particle physics (MAP) of the Institute of Space Sciences is looking for a student to apply for a pre-assigned-to-our-group FPI (Spanish government’s) 4-years PhD student fellowship. The FPI program is expected to open its call in early 2013 to start in the second semester. The candidate should have a MsS in the field (following the Bologna Declaration).

Main considerations for selection are excellent grades and unmatched motivation. We are looking for someone eager to learn and collaborate in forefront science on experimental and theoretical (mostly Galactic) high- energy astrophysics research. The MAP group formally participates on CTA, MAGIC, and Fermi-LAT experiments. The Ph.D. student will be expected to participate in these experiments, analyzing data and participating in observation shifts, as well as carry on phenomenological interpretation of these observations.

We offer close supervision, a very active group and Institute, an international network of collaborators, and a friendly atmosphere. We are currently pursuing long-term research on pulsar/pulsar wind nebula complex, SNRs, and the neutron star zoo.
