Research Position for MICE/Euclid Simulations

The Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC) offers a research position to work in the development of clustering tools to analyze the MICE simulations within the framework of the Euclid Spanish Science Data Centre.

The researcher will work with Francisco Castander, Pablo Fosalba, Martin Crocce and Enrique Gaztanaga and members of the Spanish Euclid Science Data Centre hosted at PIC. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in extragalactic astronomy, with experience in weak lensing magnification and clustering analysis tools and familiar working with cosmological simulations and databases.

The position contract is currently available for six month.

  • PhD in Astronomy or Physics, extensive experience with computer programming (python and/or C++) and familiarity with cosmological simulations.
  • Experience with analysis of astronomical data, calibration and data reduction will be considered.
