Physicist for LISA Pathfinder data analysis

The Gravitational Astronomy group at IEEC-CSIC is seeking a candidate to work as data analyst during the operations of LISA Pathfinder. This satellite, with expected launch in November 2015, is an European Space Agency mission that will test the key technologies required for gravitational wave detection in space.

The successful candidate will work integrated in the international team that will be running the satellite during the mission life-time. His/her main focus will be on the analysis of the diagnostics subsystem data, including temperature sensors, magnetometers and a radiation monitor.

Candidates with MSc degree in physics will be considered. The candidate should have experience in programming with MATLAB and be familiar with Linux. He/she must have experience in LaTex. Knowledge on statistical parameter estimation methods will be positively evaluated. Previous experience in data processing from space hardware will be a plus. A good English level (written and spoken) is required.

The position will be initially for a 1 year appointment but can be extended depending on the availability of funds. A starting date in October 2015 is foreseen.
