Description
The Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC) offers a research position to work in the generation of multiple large volume cosmological simulations with approximate methods for the Euclid mission, by the European Space Agency (ESA).The scientist will work with Pablo Fosalba, Francisco Castander and other members from the group (E.Gaztañaga, M.Crocce) within the Euclid Cosmological Simulation Working Group and in close interactions with the OU-SIM team and the Spanish Science Data Centre team, hosted at PIC.

We are seeking a candidate to generate multiple large volume cosmological simulation with the ICE-COLA code developed in our group, that will be used for the Euclid Mission. The position is expected to be filled as soon as possible after the submission deadline and will be for a part time job with an expected end in August 2016. The position will be held at the ICE, IEEC-CSIC, located at the UAB campus.

Applications should contain a CV and a statement of research/professional interests and be sent to Francisco Castander (fjc@ieec.uab.es)

Applicants should have experience developing and generating cosmological simulations with Gadget and COLA and any of its parallel implementations. Experience with computer programming (C, python and parallel programming like MPI) is essential.
