The MAP (Multimessenger Approach for Astro-Particle Physics) research group at the Institute of Space Sciences (IEEC-?CSIC) in Barcelona (Spain) is offering 2 post-?doctoral positions, each for 1+1 years.

For info about the group see:

One such position is dedicated to theoretical studies, whereas the other, will be observationally-?oriented. We are seeking for highly motivated candidates with a proven record of research having an interest to join our activities.

For the theoretical position, we are particularly interested in people who can complement our efforts on binaries, or pulsar magnetospheres, or pulsar wind nebulae. For instance, candidates with expertise on MHD simulations of those systems or particle acceleration (including PIC) are especially welcomed to apply.

For the observational position, we are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience either in timing, or interferometry at radio/millimeter/sub-?millimeter frequencies, or optical data analysis of high-?energy systems. Also, candidates interested in multi-?frequency observations of transitional pulsars, binaries, magnetars, pulsars, or supernova remnants are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be in possession of (or about to acquire) a PhD in Physics or Astronomy, and are kindly asked to send a copy of their CV, publications list (where it is made clear the candidate’s own contribution in case of presenting papers published by large collaborations), a statement of research, and the names and contact details of at least two persons willing to write a reference letter upon request. Submission address: Please use as subject: Post-? doctoral Fellowship and add (THEORY or OBSERVATIONS, respectively). Screening of applications will start as soon as 30/04/2016, and will continue until appointments are made. Starting dates are expected towards within 2016.

Salaries will be in line with Spanish postdoctoral scales. Social Security and benefits will be included.
